Soundtracks

Yet again, I have been deeply silent.

Things here have hit as about rock bottom as I can imagine. I hope that I'm not tempting fate by saying that.

We're in the last sprint of the re-writes for 'Some Hope' but real life is taking all of my energy at the moment.

To escape, I'm turning to music. Florence and the Machine. Enough anger to express what I feel at the moment. Enough F*** You attitude to sum up why I'm not taking all this crap lying down.

What are your anger/hurt soundtracks? What do you listen to when everything's going well?

ANGER: I'd probably go for some of RIchard Thompson's more aggressive songs, like Put It There Pal, or Can't Wake Up To Save My Live.

SAD: Nanci Griffith's Late Night Grande Hotel never fails for me.

Hope things start looking up for you soon!

Sorry to hear you're having such a tough time. Sometimes life does go through a cycle of being irretrievably crap - but it will get better.

All of my soundtracks are U2. They really do have something for every mood.

florence is perfect for all occasions, but 'howl' is amazing for rage/sadness.
sleepy sadness when you literally just have to lie down for a few hours is always nizlopi/starsailor for me.
happy is just anything, although we have an ongoing obsession with fleetwood mac in my uni house :)

hope things get better mr s xxxx

Hmmm... I don't really have a "Listening when stuff is going well" sort of collection to be honest... Mine is all "Stuff to scream or wallow too." I do find "Bush" is always good for a wallow and a bit of yell but for real proper angry I'm afraid it's got to be late nineties crap - Linkin Park, Papa Roach and other such embarrassments. Especially bad since, by definition, you have to play them loud!

Hope things improve soon
